Gary Lovell Birdsong was born a cold winter day on December 16,1950 to Pensa Emma (Britt) and Lee Earl Birdsong. At that time he had four siblings,a brother, Richard Lee and three sisters, Vivian Eileen, Pensa(Penny) Irene and Hedy Lynn. Then after being the youngest child for eight years, another brother, Charles Leonard was added to the family. When he was a child, I remember him loving to play outdoors. Playing in the creek with all of us and jumping off the bank of rocks into the water and hollering "Jungle Jim". He was imitating a man on a t.v. show back then called "Jungle Jim". He would also wear an old cap which he had written R.C.on it, which he said meant Rock Collector. He loved collecting different kinds of rocks. As he got older, he loved to ride horses, go fishing & hunting. As his Dad was a gun and dog trader, he soon developed that as well. He was in the Navy for awhile, after age 18. He held several jobs here and there, but he always came back to work with his Dad and go hunting and trading. He helped his Dad in the fur buying business for quite awhile, along with his younger brother Leonard. He loved to hunt with his Dad and brothers, Richard and Leonard and also his nephews. He has a son named Michael Lee, born on April 10,1974 and Gary was married to Michael's mother, Wanda Reeves. He has five grandchildren. He later married Rox Anne Deskin(Richardson). Gary loved life and his family. He was quite a story teller and would have anyone laughing pretty quick anytime he was around. He was a wonderful Son, Brother, Dad, Husband, Grandfather, Uncle and Great Uncle. Gary passed away on Nov 12,1995. He is missed so very much by all. We love you Gary!
