Golden Wedding Observed

Mr. and Mrs. Christopher C. Ankney, who live near No. 1 schoolhouse, Latrobe, Pa., celebrated their Fiftieth wedding anniversary of their marriage January 25, 1922. Members of the family spent the day pleasantly at the Ankney home. An excellent dinner was served at noon and later a group picture was taken. The afternoon was spent in reminiscences of former days. Mr. and Mrs. Ankney received a number of appropriate gifts. Guests were present from Johnstown, Donora, Latrobe and Ligonier. From Ligonier were Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Geeting and son George, Mrs. James Hunter and son David, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilt and two sons, and Charles W. Ankney.

Mrs. Margaret Ankney Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Pleasant Grove United Brethren Church, in charge of the Rev. Wille, for Mrs. Margaret Geeting Ankney, widow of the late C.C. Ankney. Mrs. Ankney succumbed on Saturday afternoon at 2 P.M., to the infirmities of age, being 80 years, 6 months and 6 days old at the time of her death. Since the death of her husband, Mrs. Ankney had made her home with her children. On November 18th, she went to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Myra Wilt, of Deeds Street, Ligonier, where she died. Mrs. Ankney is survived by the following children: Mrs. Callie Dysart, of Huntingdon; Charles W. Ankney, and Mrs. Myra Wilt, of Ligonier; Mrs. Melda Crownover, of Rostraver Twp.; Mrs. Zulah Riddell and W.M. Ankney, of Latrobe. She is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and one brother, David A. Geeting, of Ligonier.
