Golden Wedding Observed
Mr. and Mrs. Christopher C. Ankney, who live near No. 1 schoolhouse, Latrobe, Pa., celebrated their Fiftieth wedding anniversary of their marriage January 25, 1922. Members of the family spent the day pleasantly at the Ankney home. An excellent dinner was served at noon and later a group picture was taken. The afternoon was spent in reminiscences of former days. Mr. and Mrs. Ankney received a number of appropriate gifts. Guests were present from Johnstown, Donora, Latrobe and Ligonier. From Ligonier were Mr. and Mrs. D.A. Geeting and son George, Mrs. James Hunter and son David, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilt and two sons, and Charles W. Ankney.

Christley C. Ankney, a native of Cook township, but a resident of Latrobe for thirty years died at his home, 115 Irving Avenue, Latrobe, Tuesday, October 4, 1927. He was a son of the late Emanuel and Caroline Ankney. Mr. Ankney was aged 76 years, 9 months and 27 days. Funeral services will be held at the Pleasant Grove United Brethren church Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. W.V. Barnhart, pastor of the Latrobe United Brethren church in charge. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Geeting Ankney, two sons and four daughters, twenty three grand children and eleven great grand children.
