Mrs. Eliza Ashburne, mother of Mrs. S. C. Whitaker, of Guntersville, died at her home in Gurley at 10 o'clock Saturday morning, after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Ashburn was 75 years old at time of her death. She was a daughter of the late Rollings Whitaker, who was tax assessor of Marshall county for several years following the civil war. Mrs. Whitaker was with her mother when the end came.(D.A.E. added)
