Jimmy was born on August 24, 1945 in Marianna, FL and had lived in Blountstown all of his life. Jimmy retired with the Florida Department of Corrections with 24 years of service. He was a member of Dixie Masonic Lodge #109 F&AM in Blountstown, FL, a member of the York Rite Bodies in Tallahassee, FL, a member of the Shaddai Shrine Temple in Panama City, FL. Jimmy enjoyed doing carpentry and electrical work and was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Florida Peace Officers Association.
He was an excellent pistol shooter and a member of the Single Action Pistol Society, where he participated in shooting cowboy action matches. Jimmy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blountstown, FL.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 3:00 pm (CDT) at the First Baptist Church in Blountstown with Reverend Tim Rhoads officiating. Interment will follow in Nettle Ridge Cemetery in Blountstown with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 2:00 pm (CDT) until service time at 3:00 pm (CDT) at the First Baptist Church. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL.
