Mrs. Landers was born February 26, 1915, in Gradston, Alabama, to the late Benjamin and Addie Anderson. She was retired from the West Rusk and Leverett's Chapel schools where she worked in the food service department. Tommie enjoyed gardening and visiting with friends. Mrs. Landers was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She will be missed by all her loving family and friends.
Survivors include her sister, Frances Ferguson of Dallas; two stepdaughters, Gwen Pannell of Liberty City, and Eva Schuler of Liberty City; nieces and nephews, Ronald Ferguson, Richard Ferguson, Rhonda Dennison, Talitha Reese, Evelyn Arnold, Carol Anderson and Doris Bieren; special friends, Betty Clinton, Hazel Poland, Linda Pounders and Dottie McCarty; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; as well as numerous great-nieces and-nephews, other relatives and countless friends.
Mrs. Landers was preceded in death by her two husbands, J. Paul Landers and Paul Beasley Sr.; son, Dan Moody Landers; and stepson, Paul Beasley Jr.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Kilgore, Thursday, July 22, 2010, from 6-8 p.m.
