Pvt. Harris was a member of the 356th Infantry Regiment of the 89th Division. He died from influenza,in Germany while on Occupation Duty following the end of World War I. He was first buried in Statisha Fredhof, Trier, Germany, Grave No. 399, but, two years later, the family brought his body home for burial near his mother and father. Sparrel was the 9th child born to Sparrel Harris & Martha Warren Harris.
