|Death: ||Dec., 1892|
James was the only son of Walter and Jane Dawe. He was born in Northill, Cornwall and had three sisters.
In 1840, he married Johanna Bawden. It has also been spelled Bawden in various documents. The couple gave their mother's maiden name to most of their children as a middle name, some with one same spelling, some with the other. They had two sons and two daughters who lived to give them grandchildren. I believe a third daughter died in childbirth.
About the mid-1870's, James and his entire family migrataed to north Yorkshire, including hia children and their children. Many of them settled there. His wife Johanna, died in 1878.
One son and one daughter and their families moved on to Lancashire before 1891. James joined them later and remarried there. He died the year after his second wife. James was a miner all his life. He died in Burnley and was buried with his second wife in a grave owned by her first husband.
