Mrs. Grace Richart, 74, a lifelong resident of Clark County, passed away at 9:00 p.m., Monday, October 14, at the Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, Mo., where she had been a patient since July 29th.
Mrs. Richart was born on September 25, 1900, rural Martinsville, the daughter of George and Rella (Maxwell) Matkin. They moved to Marshall and she attended and graduated from Marshall High School, Class of 1917.
On Dec. 14, 1920, she married John Richart, and they made their home in Martinsville. She was a member of the Martinsville United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, L.A.L. Club and W.N. Club.
Surviving are: the husband, John; one son, John M. Richart of Jackson, Mississippi; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Spittler, Martinsville; Mrs. Wanda Latina, Belleville; mother, Mrs. Rella Matkin, Marshall; sister, Mrs. Lurah Stanfield, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Greenwell Funeral Home with Rev. David; Graham officiating. Burial will be in, Ridgelawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday.
