The tenth of eleven known children born to Capt Robert and Mourning (Lewis) Adams of Henrico Co (now Goochland) VA, Robert Jr married Penelope Flournoy Lynch on 15 Oct 1748 in VA. Penelope is the daughter of Charles and Sarah (Clark) Lynch of Albemarle Co VA and the granddaughter of Captain Christopher Sr and Penelope Bolling (Johnson) Clark.

Possible Children with Penelope:
In 1780 Robert was a member of a Vigilance Committee that helped clear the region of outlaws and Tories. Robert was also First Justice of Bedford Co VA.
Robert's father willed to him "...all my land on the Creek where I live and the mill...".
Family Lineage Investigations 2004:
"Robert Sr had property involving at least 800 acres on a branch of Licking Hole Creek in Goochland Co VA. VA was under British rule at this time. Robert Jr was the namesake of his father and was born two years prior to the ascent of King George II to the throne, in 1727."

"...Henrico was one of the Original Shires in Virginia, formed in 1634, just a little way up river from Martins Hundred, which was the site of one of the first settlements.
"The area was explored many times by the men of Martins Hundred, who built a palisades and named it "Henrico". This, too, was where they started the first silkworms, brought by Capt. Robert Adams (Sr). They put them in the mulberry trees in Henrico."
Robert is my son's 7th paternal Gr-Grand Uncle through his sister Mary Anne (Adams) Moorman (1720-1780).
