~2nd GG Aunt by marriage~
Avarilla is the daughter of Allen and Avarilla Broach Bowles (or possibly Booles as alternate spelling). She was born in Georgia and had several siblings to my current knowledge.
In May 1853, she married Joseph J. Bishop in Carroll Co., TN. They had 3 girls and 3 boys. To my knowledge they are:
Joann Francis Bishop 1854 – 1945
Avarilla Bishop 1857 –
Mary Franklin "Mollie" Bishop 1858 –
John Bell Bishop 1860 –
Allen Brinkley Bishop 1863 –
William Rufus Bishop 1866 –
Joseph died in Sep 1869 and Avarilla received Confederate Widows Pension...Application #19800. Three months after Joseph's death, she married one of his brothers. John Thomas Bishop and Avarilla married 25 Dec 1869 in Dennken, Montana. They moved to Johnson Co., TX and raised her children plus 3 more they had together. They are to my knowledge:
Charles Thomas Bishop 1872 –
Dora V. Bishop 1872 –
Anna Maud Bishop 1875 –
There could be one more child named Jack C. Bishop who was born around 1876 but I have not found the record as yet. It is shown on one other tree. If you have knowledge of this, feel free to email me.
Rest peacefully Avarilla....
