Harriett "Hattie" Spencer Breedin, 87, died Tuesday morning, February 2, 1993, at Orangeburg Methodist Home.
Born in Manning, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Renneker Breedin and Toccoa Spencer Breedin. Miss Breedin was a member of Manning United Methodist Church, where she served with the Ladies Bible Class and Beulah Sprott Circle, and was a past Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Clarendon Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and Delta Kappa Gamma. Miss Breedin was a graduate of Winthrop College Class of 1927 and did post graduate work at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She was a school teacher in Winter Garden, Ft. Lauderdale, and Lake Whales, all in Florida, and in Jonesville and Liberty, SC.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. J.H. "Toccoa" Breedin Brunson of Manning; two brothers, Lucius Spencer Breedin and Alfred H. Breedin, Sr., both of Manning; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Manning United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Waddell officiating, assisted by Dr. William J. Holmes. Burial will follow in the Manning Cemetery.
