Jack Whisenhunt, 58, of Valliant, Ok. passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Paris Regional Medical Center, Paris, Tx. He was born July 25, 1948, in Millerton, Ok. The son of Richard and Zela (Capps) Whisenhunt.

Jack and Elizabeth Allison were married on May 4, 1968 at Wright City and were blessed with two daughters, Kristie and Ashley. He was a member of the Felker Free Will Baptist Church in Felker community. A veteran of the United States Army 4th Infantry, Jack served his country the Vietnam War. After thirteen years, he was honorably dischared with the rand of an E-7 Drill Sgt. and worked for General Motors as a Project Engineer. Jack and Liz owned and operated the Country Boy Grocery on Hwy 98 north of Wright City for many years. Jck became the Vice Commander of the American Legion Post 74 and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He liked to stain glass and being an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed taking trips to Colorado to hunt elk, and aslo enjoyed hunting deer and turkey. Most of all, Jack was a man who made his family a priority and was willing to offer a helping hand to those in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard nd Zela Whisenhunt.

Jack leaves to cherish him memory his wife, Eliabeth Whisenhunt , of the home' two daughters, Kristie Johnsonand husban Buster and their children, Derrek and Kaitly, Lake Charles, La. Ashley Mende and husband Donald and their son, Shiloh, Texarkana, Ar; one sister, Alice Jones, Wright City, Ok; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Donna Whisenhunt, Valliant, Ok, Dale and Mary Ann Whisenhunt, Chandler, Tx. Larry and Linda Whisenhunt, Shawnee, Ok, Billy and Brenda Whisenhunt, Valliant, Ok., Dennis and GiGi Whisenhunt, Valliant,Ok; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
