Harry C. Adams. was born in Kensington district of London, England into the rigid military routine of army life. His father was Capt. W. H. Adams of the 23rd Platoon of service. Capt. Adams and his family moved to Canada, assuming the position of convener of finance with the Hudson's Bay company at Winnipeg. At the age of 15, Harry was apprenticed as a clerk to the Hudson Bay Co. at Fort Garry, he served at both upper and lower Fort Garry from 1885 to 1894. During this time he carried mail from Winnipeg to Lake Winnipeg for dispatch to the far western posts. He learned his job well and was posted to Battleford. He lived in the Eagle Hills in the early 1900's at NE 24-42-17. In 1908 he was appointed town clerk at Battleford. He took an interest in all civic activities and served on many executive offices. Mr. and Mrs. Adams had three daughters.
