| Birth: | Feb. 3, 1914 | | Death: | Oct. 22, 2005 |  OXFORD - Melvin Earl Ford, 91, of Oxford died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, in a Calico Rock hospital. Born Feb. 3, 1914, he was the son of Wyatt Wilson Ford and Necie Henley Ford. He was united in marriage to Gladys White Aug. 24, 1934, in Oxford. He was a minister, carpenter, farmer and mail carrier. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church and a member of Union Masonic Lodge for 50 years. Survivors include two daughters, Laverne Ward of Oxford and Kathy Gulley of Melbourne; three brothers, Wyatt Ford Jr. of Little Rock, Leonard Ford of Anchorage, Alaska, and Sharrel Ford of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Lillian Tauscher of Yullee, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Beverly Ward, Tammie Parker, Rhonda Norvold, Regina Newton, Melinda Wommack, Quentina Harris, Kelby Gulley and Gavin Gulley; and eight great-grandchildren, Brandon Whitehead, Blake Whitehead, Lane Norvold, Tori Newton, Jordan Wommack, Bailey Wommack, Jackson Harris and Grayson Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four brothers, Samuel Ford, Lonnie Ford, Rolla Ford and J.L. Ford; a sister, Vivian Hill Smithwick; a daughter, Nola Faye Blevins; two grandchildren, Valerie Blevins and Mark Dwayne Blevins; and a great-grandchild, Sydney Norvold.
