Believed to be a second wife of Jacob I. Acker (Eacker).

According to The Mohawk Valley Herkimers & Allied Families:
"In 1850 Gertrude, resided in Palatine, Montgomery Co., with her son George, while Jacob resided, from 1830 until his death in 1873, in Big Flats, Chemung Co. In the 1850 census, he is listed with a wife(?), Martha, aged 52, and 3 children aged 12 to 18. Martha died 10 Oct 1868 ae 68 and is buried next to Jacob and is called "wife of" on her tombstone."
