On 16 Jan 1868 Eliza married William James Cross Snr at Boston and in 1871 they were living at Drain Side, Skirbeck, Lincolnshire, England.
Her husband left for the USA in 1872 and she followed the next year and arrived at Boston, Massachusetts, on 23 Apr 1873 on board the "Olympus" from Liverpool. She was accompanied by their 3 children- William James Jnr age 4, Mary Jane age 3 and Sarah Easter age 1. They were to have a further 7 children while living in the USA.
In 1880 the family were living at Hyde Park, Cook, Illinois, and in 1900 at Minden, Pottawattamie, Iowa.
Eliza died on 28 July 1934.
