Emery Ray Garrison, 78, died at 6:40 pm Thursday, Nov. 25, 1982, in Harrisburg Medical Center. He was a retired miner. Born on March 15, 1904 in Saline County, son of the late Ezra and Lula Mae (Absher) Garrison. He was a member of the North Williford Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Estel Turner; eight children: William Lee (Sarah) Garrison of Burlington, Ky., Syble Maxine (Charles) Lamar, Zion, Il., Coleta (Arkie) Wingo, Carolyn Sweetwood, Anna Belle (Ben) McCormick, Opal Helen (Leonard) Baird, all of Waukegan, Il., Brenda Kay (Andy) Cserny, Harrisburg, Il., Noel Dean Garrison, Sacramento, Ca.; a sister, Eva Gladys (Troy) Blue, Carrier Mills, Il. brother, James Lowell (Ruby) Garrison of Marion, Il. 22 Grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Donald Ray Garrison 1981 of Waukegan, Il., a brother, William Carl Garrison; a sister Reva Opal Dallas, a granddaughter, Judith Ann Garrison 1957, great grandson, David Philip Lamar 1972.
Visitation will be Sat. at 6:00 pm at Gaskins Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Sunday 2:00 pm at Gaskins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Coal Bank Cemetery.
