EAST PEORIA, IL - Alice M. Hilliard, 89, of East Peoria died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Apostolic Christian Nursing Home in Eureka, IL, where she was a resident for two months.

Born June 8, 1914, in Shelby County to William Otis and Pearl Mae Phillips Perry, she married Elmer Hilliard on July 6, 1932, in Peoria. He died Sept. 12, 1993, in East Peoria.

He also was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

Surviving are one son, William of Morton; one daughter, Charlotte (and Walter) Austin of Peoria; one sister, Catherine Clark of Morton; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was a resident of East Peoria for 70 years.

She was a 56-year member of Leuder Memorial Evangelical United Brethren Church, which later became Faith United Methodist Church in East Peoria, where she taught Sunday school. She also held a ladies Bible study in her home for several years.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Remmert Funeral Home, where visitation will be one hour before. The Rev. James Middleton will officiate. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to her church.
