On Tuesday, Dec 30, 1919, the spirit of Mrs Mary Alexander was call to her heavenly rest. She was born and reared in Mississippi where she met & married Mr A.B. Alexander in 1870. Ever since the home-going of her husband 3 years ago, her health had constantly failed her until the final summons came on the 30th. She admonished the children not to weep for her. She left six noble children to bless this world and to make it better;
Ed Alexander, Mrs Laura McClain, Mrs J.W. Strong, Mrs T.J. Smith, Mrs W.E.Freeman, & Mrs J.T. Adams; all of whom were present at the funeral which was conducted from the Baptist Church Jan 2, 1920 by Pastor M.F. Kelly. Interment was at Fairview cemetery where a double vault had been prepaired to which the body of Mr A.B. Alexander will be brought from Texas later. Signed M.F. Kelly.
