Ruth was born in Peabody, Kansas and attended Holland Public Schools. She owned and operated the Hitching Post from 1963-1973. She was a member of Hope Church until she retired to Florida.
Preceding her in death was her husband, James Henry (Hank) in 2004; son Jerry Aalderink, in 1960, sons-in-law, Al Perry and Art Oosting, and a sister, Esther Overway.
Surviving are her children, Betty (Russ) Rescorla, Carol Oosting, Connie (Pete) Yanetta, all of Cape Coral, FL, Ruth (Rene) Tieman, of Holland, and Jim (Jill) Aalderink, of Cape Coral, FL; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; in-laws, Jo Nyland, Ed (Jane) Aalderink, Gert Aalderink, Len Aalderink, Sue Watkins, Herb Aalderink, Della Aalderink, Bob (Joyce) Aalderink; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009, 10:00am, at First Reformed Church in Holland with the Rev. Dr. Daniel Gillett officiating. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery.
