Born Aug. 5, 1926, in Cleveland, she lived in Escondido for 27 years. She was a homemaker for 57 years. She was a member of the Escondido Alumnae Panhellenic, the American Association of University Women, where she was in the gourmet and choral groups, a member of the First United Methodist Church, the In-Betweens Social Group, the PTA, the League of Women Voters, and the VoTT Alumni Group, She enjoyed tole painting, sewing, singing, reading and book club.
Mrs. Barnett was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Barnett, in 2005. She is survived by her son, Don Barnett Jr. of Temecula; daughters and sons-in-law Laura and Karl Olsen of San Diego and Betsy and Jim Rode of Garden Grove; and grandchildren Rachel, Angela, Kristen and Kendra.
Inturnment is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Escondido. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Faith Conklin officiating.
