John William "Will" Bridenstine

m. 27 Oct 1880 in North Liberty, Johnson Co, Iowa to Elvira "Ella" White. They had seven children; Jessie May, Edgar Don, Charles White, Minnie Mabel Elsie, Infant Daughter, and Gladys.

After the marriage they homesteaded a farm near Odell, Nebraska where their first three children were born. In 1886 they migrated to Barnard, Kansas where they owned two farms, one of which was eventually sold to his half sister's husband, Chester E. Myers. After about twenty years in Kansas, Mr. and Mrs. Bridenstine joined his brother, Scott, in Holtville, California where they again homesteaded a farm. About ten years later the constant irrigation caused the farm land to turn to alkali soil which prevented the growth of crops. At that time they moved north to Santa Ana, California where they owned a large two story house in a walnut grove. After Mr. Bridenstine died, at the age of 69, on November 22, 1926.

Ella continued to live in their house in Santa Ana with a friend, Mrs. Hill, and later with her daughter, Jessie Parsons. One of Ella's favorite pastimes was quilting. She made a bedquilt for each of her nineteen grandchildren and a crib quilt for each great-grandchild when born and a bed quilt for their second birthday as long as she was able. She also maintained a record of the birth, marriage and death of all of the descendants of Jacob Bridenstine and of the descendants of her maternal grandfather, John Broadstone. She eventually moved with her daughter, Jessie, to Monterey Park, California where she lived until her death at the age of 95, on January 7, 1955. Will and Ella are both buried in the Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster, California.
