Deserted 5/19/1863 (common among farmers during crop season) and returned honorably to service 9/1/1863
Served til taken POW Petersburg Va on 4/2/1865 (the week of Gen Lee's surrender)
Sent to Point Lookout Md where he was paroled on oath 6/23/1865
