Virgil S. Curnell, 21, of Ironton, Ohio went home on Saturday (November 22, 2008) while on active duty in the U.S. Army. The Ironton, Ohio native was born March 24, 1987, the son of Charles and Judith Delawder Curnell of Corbin, Kentucky. He is also survived by his wife, Le Shea Curnell of Gainesville, Florida.
Virgil was a dedicated soldier who had just re-enlised. He gave his life doing something he really loved. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by:
paternal grandparents: William and Eloise Curnell
maternal grandmother: Betty Harrison
In addition to his parents and wife, he is also survived by:
a son: Bryan Curnell
two brothers: Robert Curnell of Ironton and Scott Curnell of Norfolk, Va
maternal grandfather: Virgil Delawder
cousin: Kevin Barnes of Ashland, Kentucky
Virgil was buried with full military honors & 2 flags were presented. One to his wife & one to his Mother.
I HAVE WANTE TO WRITE ABOUT VIRGIL BUT CAN NEVER FIND THE WORDS SO I DECIDED JUST FROM TIME TO TIME JOT DOWN SOMETHING ABOUT HIM. WHEN HE WAS A LITTLE BOY HIS FAVORITE COLOR WAS GREEN. WE HAD TO ADD GREEN FOOD COLORING TO ALL HIS FOOD OR HE WOULDN'T EAT. WE ACTUALLY HAD GREEN EGGS MILK MASHED POTATOES EVERYTHING!
