~~Irene Iris Bellis, 82, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at the home. Mrs. Bellis was born June 12, 1919, in Lawson, Mo., the daughter of Virgil Campbell and Matilda Mellon Campbell. She married Delmar Bellis on Sept. 21, 1938, in Kingston, MO.
She was a lifelong area resident. She was a homemaker and had attended the Church of Christ.
Her family includes her husband, Delmar of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; two sons, Raymond Bellis, of Lawson, Mo.; Merle Bellis of Sun City, Ariz.; a daughter, Virginia Cook of Shawnee, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Paul Campbell in February 2000.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday at the South Point Cemetery, near Orrick, MO. The family will greet friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday, at the Prichard Chapel in Excelsior Springs, MO.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the South Point Cemetery.
