Dortha M. Knotts

Dortha M. Knotts, 78, of Parkersburg, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg.

She was born Oct. 31, 1929, in Wood County, a daughter of the late Eldred Noel and C. Pearl Myer Russell.

Dortha was a 1947 graduate of Parkersburg High School. She formerly worked at the Blennerhassett Hotel as a desk supervisor. Dortha was an avid bridge player, but most of all, she loved being with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Jeffery Knotts and his wife, Sheila, of Melbourne, Fla.; two daughters, Joyce Stanley and her husband, Courtney, of Parkersburg and Sharon Butcher and her husband, Mike, of Parkersburg; two sisters, Norma Ennes of Hillsboro, Ore., and Virginia Lee Korzep of Sebring, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Sabrina Reynolds and Michaelyn and Tyler Butcher.

Dortha was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Emogene Fullerton.

Funeral services for Dortha will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
