Elizabeth McBee was the daughter of William McBee and Elizabeth Milligan. She was the 5th of 10 children. About 1840, the William McBee family moved from Ohio to Ray County, Missouri. In 1852, the family left Missouri via the Oregon Trail and settled south of Corvallis in Benton County, Oregon.
Elizabeth married Andrew Jackson Linebarger on December 1, 1857 in Benton County. He was born in 1829 in Covington, Fountain County, Indiana. He was previously married to Lucy Eleanor Gilmour in Linn County, Oregon.
Elizabeth and Andrew had two daughters, Nancy Virginia and Mary J. Linebarger. In 1860 they lived at Starrs Point, Butte, Benton Co., Oregon. Andrew died in 1861 in Benton County, Oregon.
In the 1870 census, the widowed Elizabeth and her daughters were living with her older brother, John Wesley McBee, himself a widower, and his five children: Samuel, William, Clara, Martha and Ida McBee.
In the 1880 census, the widowed Elizabeth was living with her children Virginia and Mary as well as her brother George McBee's orphaned children: Mary, Henry & Rosa McBee.
