William S. Almond, 69, of Spotsylvania County died Thursday, April 5, 2007, at Mary Washington Hospital after a long illness.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary W. Almond; a son, William Ronald Almond; three daughters, Anita Atkins and her husband, Harvey, Tina Gayle and her husband, William, and Robin Griffis and her husband, Jim, all of Spotsylvania; two grandchildren, William Cody Almond and Amanda Gayle; one stepgrandchild, Desiree Griffis; a brother, Clarence Almond of Louisa County; a sister, Elsie Pritchard of Bowling Green; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 9, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg, with Wilbur H. Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Family cemetery in Spotsylvania.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 8, at the funeral home.
