Birth: Dec. 24, 1829
Crowle
Lincolnshire, England
Death: May, 1863
Willard
Box Elder County
Utah, USA

NOTE: As is the normal circumstance at this pioneer cemetery - Ann Clifton's exact burial plot is unidentified and NO GRAVESTONE for her exists at this date.

Daughter of Sarah Major and Barnabas Cook of Crowle, Linconshire, England.

Ann married John Clifton at Crowle about 1860 - his second wife. They had one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth in 1861.

They came to America and the following family members immigrated to the Utah Valley with the Joseph Horne Wagon Company which departed from Florence (now Omaha) Nebraska between the 1st and 4th of July 1861. The wagontrain roster listed:
John Clifton (32); Hannah Pettinger Clifton [1st wife, 33]; Ann Cook Clifton [2nd wife, 32];

Children of Hannah: Elizabeth Ann, 8; George, 6; Heber James, 5; & Mary Ann, 2.

Child of Ann: Sarah Elizabeth, infant.

With what ship the family sailed from England, is currently undocumented. The "Lady Switzerland" departed from an unknown port in 1859 and arrived at the port of New York in 1859 with a "John Clifton" registered aboard.

This is the only account of an LDS man by that name who was a passenger during the years between June 1840 and November 1890; but little is known of that voyage.
