George Washington Crane, Sr., 90 of Hatfield, died Monday evening in the Wilhelmina Medical Center. He was born on Oct. 23, 1897 at Rocky.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. J. A. Jester, Rev. Lowell Snitker, Rev. George Corbett and Rev. Ronnie Crane officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Bealey-Wood Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Mike Oglesby, Steve Oglesby, Ronnie Crane, Bobby Crane, Craig Crane and John Crane.
He was the son of the late John R. Crane and the late Mrs. Francis Turner Crane and was united in marriage to Miss Myrtle C. Griffin on Dec. 23, 1918 at Mena. She preceded him in death on August 28, 1973, He has been a resident of Polk County all his life. He was a retired farmer and mail carrier, a membr of the Hatfield Assembly of God and a veteran of World War 1.
Survivors are five sons, George W. Crane, Jr., Hatfield, AR. John J. (Bud) Crane, Mena, Gene Crane, Mena, Doyle Crane of Archdale, NC, Harold Dean Crane, Cedar Hill, Tex.; one daugher, Mrs. Delores Oglesby, Hatfield. One sister, Mrs. Abigll Stockton, Hatfield; 24 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
crane was preceded in death by infant daughter, Alma Lucille Crane.
