Roy Stephen Chitwood, 67, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, at his residence in Greenwood.
He was born Jan. 8, 1937, in Mountain Pine, Ark. His father was Stephen Chitwood. His mother is Jessie (Smith) Chitwood. He married Peggy (Glass) Chitwood 44 years ago. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Sheets; a son, Randy Chitwood; a sister, Gina Wacaster of Louisiana; two brothers, Gary and Jerry Chitwood, both of Arkansas; and four grandsons.
He was a certified pilot. He worked in the computer field for 25 years and was an entrepreneur.
He was a member of Smith Valley Baptist Church in Greenwood and First Baptist Church of Royal, Ark.
He sang in a gospel quartet and played the piano.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Royal, Ark. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135, and from 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the church. Burial will be at Lowes Cemetery in Royal, Ark.
