Charles Dunlap
Madras resident Charles M. "Charley" Dunlap, died Aug. 23, after he was struck by a car while at work in The Dalles. He was 49.
Mr. Dunlap was born April 22, in The Dalles to parents Everett and Ruth (Butterfield) Dunlap. He lived in Friend Ore. before moving to Madras in 1960. On January 31, 1962, he and his wife Rena, were married in Madras. His special interests included, enjoyment of people, hunting, fishing and guns. He was a hunter safety instructor for several years. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include, his wife, Rena Dunlap of Madras; children Florence Wollam of Madras, Bonnie Hughes of Metolius and Tracy Dunlap of Portland; parents, Everett Dunlap of LaPine and Ruth Hoover of Texas; brothers J. Dean Dunlap of Wishram, Wash., Jerry and Leslie Dunlap of Madras, John Dunlap of Portland, Mark Hoover of New Hampshire and Louie Hoover of New Mexico; sister, Vanessa Dunlap of Madras; and grandmother Josie of Washington; and grandchildren Teresa Hughes, Kenny Wollam, Raymond Hughes and Holly Hughes.
Funeral services were held, Aug. 28, at Bel-Air Colonial Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Tom Adams. Bill and Judy Simmons provided music for the service. Burial was at the Mt. Jefferson Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family has suggested that those wishing to make memorial contributions direct them to, Jefferson County 4-H Hunter Safety Course in care of the Bel-Air Funeral Home, 762 NE 10th Street, Madras, Oregon 97741
Arrangements were under the direction of the Bel-Air Colonial Funeral Home in Madras.
