Theadore "Ted" Bailey, 57, of Duncombe, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, at the Southfield Wellness Community at Webster City.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Foster Chapel with the Rev. Howard Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and prior to the service on Thursday.
Theadore Allen Bailey, son of Arthur and Lis Wood Bailey, was born Oct. 11, 1948, at Laurens. At the age of 4, he moved with his parents to Duncombe. He attended Duncombe Public School and Webster City high school. On April 12, 1969, he married Cynthia Sue Clay at Fort Dodge. The couple resided at Duncombe. He was a driver for Anderson Trucking, Decker's and Ace Lines. The couple was divorced in 1986. He also drove for Dr. McDonald's and Smithway for 14 years. He was currently employed by Golden Fawn Lodge at Ontario, Canada as camp and promotions manager. Fort the past 40 years, he had worked in farm operations for the Michelson's in the Duncombe area.
Ted is survived by his daughter, Sherry Taylor of Duncombe; his son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Jessica Bailey of Webster City; grandchildren, Erin and Claire Bailey, and Bobby, Brian and Brady Johnson; brother, Eddy Bailey of Des Moines; niece, Teresa King of Virginia Beach, Va.
He was preceded death by his parents; son-in-law Ted Taylor in September of 2005; sisters, Darlene Andrews, Marilyn Howe and Wilamenia Bailey, in infancy.
He was a former fire chief for the Duncombe Fire Department, played on the Vault softball team for several years, enjoyed bowling and horseshoes.
