My great uncle~~
He was born near Berne, Switzerland and came to the United States in 1883. He attended the Onarga Seminary in Onarga, Illinois, which was a private high school. He took the Commercial Course, which prepared him for business.

Uncle Otto married in Cook County Illinois, to a woman named Clara Lindley, and they had a daughter named Dorothy Ethel Baehler. He was an insurance clerk for Aetna Insurance in Chicago. They eventually moved back to Forrest Illinois, near his family home before 1920. I recently found out this was because Uncle Otto was ill. He then died in 1921 in a "sanitarium" in Springfield Illinois. I think he died from Tuberculosis.

The family has never been able to find their location, and they have been lost to us.

He was gone before my mother was born, so we don't know a lot about this uncle.

From a cousin:
Clara was born about 1886, but I have not been able to find any government record of where (nor have I found any information on her fate). She and Otto were married 26 September 1908 in Western Springs, Cook County, Illinois.

Their daughter Dorothy was born 4 April 1909 in Illinois, and died 23 November 1984 in Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. She is buried in Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Cook County, Illinois.

Dorothy was married about 1927 to George Joseph Daly, who was born 20 October 1897 in Illinois and died 16 April 1981 in Hammond, Lake County, Indiana.

Dorothy and George lived in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois at the time of the 1940 census, which listed four children: John Daly (born about 1928), Mary Daly (1930-2011, married 1953 to Walter S. Pokoj), Catherine Theresa Daly (1934-1999, married to Richard Krick), and Dennis Gregory Daly (1937-2005) – all of whom were born in Cook County, Illinois.
