Horace Anguish served as a Corporal in Company I of the 157th New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment in the American Civil War. He had his humerus fractured on the 1st day of the Battle of Gettysburg, July 1, 1863. He died on July 31, 1863.

He had enlisted at Sullivan, New York, and he was 22 years of age at the time of his enlistment.
