MRS. EMMA A. BROWNE, aged 60 years, died at the home of her son, Walter M. Browne, at No. 1063 Monroe Avenue, yesterday afternoon at 4 o'clock. She was the widow of J. W. X. Browne, who died in 1894. Mr. Browne was the founder of the firm of Browne & Borum. Mrs. Browne was born and reared in Memphis, and for many years was prominent in the life of the city. She was identified with the Christian Science Church for many years.
Mrs. Browne leaves a brother, John Mallory, of this city, and the following children: Harris L., Walter M., J. W. X., Edwin S., and Mrs. U. S. Rogerson, of this city; Arthur C. Browne of New York, and Alvin Browne of Birmingham, Alabama.
The funeral will take place this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the residence, at No. 1063 Monroe Avenue, with interment at Elmwood Cemetery. The pallbearers will be W. K. Burton, W. P. Aikin, N. W.
