The son of James J. Carroll and Hannah W. Larkin of Perry Co., Alabama who were married on 17 Feb 1845 by Thos S Williamson, Minister of the Gospel in Perry Co., Alabama.

Married Arminda L. Carter, the daughter of William and Polly Carter and on 25 Jun 1868. Arminda L. Carter's brother, Hugh C. Carter and some of his family are also buried in this cemetery. Hugh C. Carter's Findagrave Memorial is #7347146
