What Cheer Woman Died June 3

Mrs. Etta E. Duwe, 86, formerly of What Cheer, died Saturday, June 3, at the Troy Nursing Home in New Sharon. The funeral was held Monday afternoon, June 5, at the Whyle Funeral Chapel in What Cheer, with the Rev. John Whitworth officiating.

The daughter of Frederick and Henrietta Schultz Nickle, she was born May 3, 1875, near What Cheer. She was married August 1, 1932, to Bruno Duwe who died in 1959. Most of her life was spent on a farm east of What Cheer, until moving to Delta about 17 years ago.

She was a member of the German Lutheran church but attended the Methodist church in Delta. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, two brothers and three half-sisters. Surviving are one sister of Fairfield and several nieces and nephews.
