Pearl Rose Groeper, 88, Washington, died Friday, April 13, 2001, at Washington. She was born September 29, 1912, at
New Haven, the daughter of Fritz VonBehren and wife Lillian, nee Wettling. Mrs.Groeper received her education at Good Hope School, south of New Haven. In 1932, she was united in marriage to Claude Edgar Becker. On February
27, 1954, she was united in marriage to Elmer Groeper. Mrs. Groeper worked at International Shoe Company as a stitcher for 17 and one-half years. She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Washington. Mrs.Groeper was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Groeper on July 8, 1985; one sister, Opal Oberg; one stepson, Lee Groeper; and one grandson, Ricky Langkopf. She is survived by her two daughters, Darlene Langkopf and husband Don, and Donna Giesler, all of Washington; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 17, at St.Peter’s United Church of Christ, Washington, with Rev. William Schwab officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Memorials to St. Peter’s Church or Unity Hospice are preferred. The Groeper family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington.
