Former Fort Recovery resident Gene Matthew Adams, 58, of Trotwood, died Oct. 24, 2002, at University Hopsital in Louisville, Ky., following a sudden illness.
He was born December 15, 1944, in Indianaoplis, Indiana. His mother, Lucille (Knoth) VanSkyock, survives in Fort Recovery.
Also surviving are his wife, the former Penelope Becker; four sons, Matthew and Jon, both of Dayton, Troy of Cincinnati, and Kris of Clayton; a dauther and her husband, Stacy and Scott Melling, Indiana, and a daughter, Jennifer of Dayton; and two grandchildren.
Other survivors include two brothers and there wives, Jerry and Katherine, Cincinnati, and Ronnie and Connie VankSkyock, Fort Recovery, and a brother, Kevin VanSkyock, Ludlow Falls; and a sister and her husband, Joyce and Chuck Long, Celina.
Deceased are a setpfather, Weldon VanSkyock, and a brother, Larry VanSkyock.
He had served as program manager at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for 28 years. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a member of Ginghamsburg United Methodist Church, Tipp City.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. John Jung officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, New Carlisle.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. today at Kindred Funeral Home, Englewood, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
