Susannah YOUNG was born the daughter of Cornelius YOUNG and his wife Catherine SISSLER Young. She was born in 1788 in Maryland.
As a young woman, Susannah Young migrated to Ohio with her family.
Susannah YOUNG married Hanson HOOKER (1800-1844) on February 3, 1820, in Knox County, OHIO.
They were the parents of 10 children: Mary, John, Catherine, Rebecca, William, Elizabeth, Lewis, Rachel, George, and James.
Following the death of her husband, Hanson HOOKER, Susannah Young Hooker migrated from Wyandot County, Ohio, to Green County, Wisconsin, in the year 1851. She purchased a farm in Green County, Wisconsin.
Susannah Young Hooker died at Spring Grove, Green County, Wisconsin, on July 5, 1857.
At the time of her death, Susannah was survived by all ten of her children and many grandchildren.
A white tombstone in Mount Hope Cemetery marks her final resting place. Decorated with an engraving of a weeping willow tree, her tombstone inscription reads, "Susannah,
Wife Of Hanson Hooker". Her tombstone is also inscribed with her date of death which occurred on July 5, 1857, and records her age at the time of her passing as 68 years and 11 months.
