Pauline Wilson Blankenship
Pauline Wilson Blankenship, age 86 of Sunnington Assisted Living, died Saturday March 8, 2008 at Community Care of Rutherford County. She is the daughter of the late, Aubrey and Alta Simmons Wilson.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with Dr. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Henry and Mary Blankenship of Nashville; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Mike Dorris of Nashville; sisters, Oma McNabb and Clara Todd, both of Murfreesboro; brother, Aubrey Wilson, of Murfreesboro; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edwin Blankenship who died in 1996 and a sister, Alice Mitchell.
Mrs. Blankenship was a member of First Baptist Church. She was retired from Murfreesboro City Schools as city schools lunch supervisor. In 1954, she received international recognition as a master Plowman, and for over 50 years she raised thousands of purebred English Shephard Dogs. A master gardener she was a member of Rutherford County Farm Bureau and served on the board of directors. Mr. and Mrs. Blankenship were actively engaged in many community projects, such as Uncle Dave Macon Days, local parades and Canonsburg pioneer village.
Nephews will server as Pallbearers.
