Fred Boldt was known for his wide smile and his bright auburn hair. Fred was raised in Indiana and Chicago by loving parents. He moved to New Haven, Ct where he met and married socialite Emily Phelps White.
Together they moved to Buffalo, NY where Fred owned a popular bowling alley. After relocating to Dunkirk, NY, he discovered his heart was very badly damaged by rheumatic fever. His new daughters, Nancy May Boldt (now Vicknair) and Diana Marie were the apples of his eye but he went downhill quickly when his heart started to fail.
They all returned to New Haven to live in the big house at 239 Everit owned by his mother in law, Edna Battersby White. Fred was hospitalized briefly and passed in the fall of 1950. His two daughters and widow missed him very much. Widow Emily died in 1985 and daughter Diana died in 2007--both from ALS-Lou Gehrigs disease.
