***Thank you to all who have left notes and images!
Diana was a wonderful daughter, aunt, friend, wife and sister. She was a gentle spirit with a very kind heart. Diana was raised in New Haven, Ct near East Rock by her mom Emily Phelps White (Boldt) and her grandmother, Edna May Battersby White. Diana attended Worthington Hooker School, Hamden Hall and the University of Chicago.
A gifted Latin scholar and editor, Diana enjoyed her high school years in New Haven. She sang with the junior choir at St Thomas' Episcopal Church for many years. She majored in Islamic Art History and lived in India.
Always a sympathizer to progressive political beliefs, Diana became a member of the Spartacist League in the 60s and was an active participant until her final days.
In her youth she loved Vermont and Martha's Vineyard, but home was her priority. She was a great cook and loved sushi. Her gorgeous long red hair was a wonder to behold!
Taken away from her loving family much too soon by Lou Gehrig's Disease, Diana is missed every day.
(Britten, Noye's Fludde)
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who biddest the mighty ocean deep,
Its own appointed limits keep;
Oh, hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea!
From Vera Lynn's 1940's song-
"We'll meet again,
Don't know where,don't know when,
But I know we'll meet again, some sunny day."
