Ruth was born on October 17, 1949 to John and Glenna Mae (Wooten) Peters in San Antonio, Texas. The third of three children; she has an older brother, Johnny Peters, and an older sister, Sharon (Peters) Glover.
Ruth attened school at Stephen F. Austin High in Port Acres, Texas where she met her first husband, Roy Allen Trahan. Together they had three children; Shanon Marie, Catherine Elizabeth and Jennifer Michelle. The marriage ended after 10 years.
Ruth then began to work and travel; living in Texas and Mississippi. She enjoyed many trips to Mexico for vacation. She finally settled in Port Arthur, Texas where she met her fiance' Walter Leon Bearden. Together for seven years, they planned to travel to Mexico in the summer of 2010 to be married.
Ruth was blessed with five grand-children whom she dearly loved.
Ruth passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Groves, Texas on March 24, 2010.
She is survived by her fiance' Walter Bearden; her three daughters, Shanon (Trahan) Hughes and husband John of Conroe, Texas; Catherine (Trahan) Falb and husband Ron of Lumberton, Texas; Jennifer (Trahan) Davis and husband Vince of Beaumont, Texas; brother Johnny Peters and wife Catherine of Victoria, Texas; sister Sharon (Peters) Glover and husband Wade of Lumberton, Texas; grand-daughter Rachel Crabbs of Groves, Texas; Rebekah Falb of Lumberton, Texas; Jada Davis of Beaumont, Texas; Seth Davis of Beaumont, Texas; and Ryleigh Falb of Lumberton, Texas; three nephews and a host of friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her father, John Peters and mother, Glenna Mae (Wooten) Pender.
