Reinhardt immigrated with his family to Comal County, Texas in 1845. He volunteered in the Confederate States Army in New Braunfels 7th Regiment, Captain Gustave Hoffmann Company. He was wounded in the Battle of Galveston on Jan 1, 1863. A month later he died from his wounds in the Confederate General Hospital in Houston and was buried in the Old Houston Cemetery. Unfortunately the City of Houston did not preserve this cemetery and built the Old Jeff Davis Hospital over it.
