Margaret Dean was the daughter of James Dean and Mary Lark, of Virginia according to her death record. Contributor MBH says the information on the death record is incorrect. She says her parents were not James and Mary, that (death) record was incorrect. Her parents were Ellis Dean and Hannah Larke/Larkin.

She married James H. Salyer and raised 7 children that we know of. Two of those, Hannah, and James van Buren Salyer, played significant roles in the life of John B. Gregory as described in a short biography I wrote of him.

Margaret Dean is buried in an unmarked grave next to and immediately to the right of her husband's tombstone, as one faces his tombstone.
