Daniel Sturgean Balsinger was the fouth child and third son of William & Sarah (Price) Bolsinger. His siblings were; Elizabeth, (1825-1864), James W., (1832-), Perry Commodore, (1834-1905), Benjamin, (1836-), (Benjamin & Daniel were TWINS), George Walter N., (1838-), John, (1839-), Phoebe Jane (Jennie), (1840), and Jesse Silas Penny, (1844-1919.) Both Daniel and George fought on the Union side in the Civil War. George Walter N. died in the War. Daniel married Lavina C. Riley, (1842-). They had six children; Cyrus, (1861-), Webster Riley, (1865-), Eva, (1868-), Charles L. (1870-), George, (1872-) and Daisy, (1874-). Lavina collected a pension for Daniel.
A contributor of FAG walked the cemetery looking for Daniel's gravemarker. There isn't one. There was also question that he may have been moved or some stones were plundered and his may have been one of them. Since there was evidence that he was supposed to have been there, I am leaving this tribute up until more information can be found. Written by Dona McPhillips.
