Mrs. Elizabeth Beecher, widow of John Beecher, died at her home Friday afternoon at 5 o'clock, after quite an extended illness, aged nearly 82 years. She was a daughter of the late John Kuffler and Mary Tusk and was born in Alsace-Lorraine, France, October 24, 1950. She came to this country in 1871 and came to Mohawk Hill to reside. She was united in marriage with John Beecher at Mohawk Hill in July 1871. They settled near Boonville, where they lived for a time. Later they came to the town of West Turin, where she lived for about 55 years. Mrs. Beecher was a splended Christian woman; she was a good neighbor and will be missed greatly in this community where she lived so many years. She was a faithful member of St. Peter's and Paul's Church at Fish Creek and was a member of the Alter Society connected with this church. Her husband passed away November 18, 1930. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Theresa Middlemiller of Boonville; Mrs. Simon Frank of Lyons Falls; Mrs. Martin Nellenback of West Lyden; Mrs. Leo Frank of Constableville; Joseph Beecher of Verona, Henry Beecher of Constableville, Peter Beecher of Utica; Anthony Beecher, 35 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a cousin Caroline Beecher of Cleveland, Ohio; several neices and nephews.
